Isola Cinema is out there
Sunday, November 7th, 2004Your email reminded me of a nice time I had in Slovenia - albeit short. I remember I was enjoying Kitano’s outdoor screening even though I didn’t understand a word. I wish I could go back to experience the sun and the people again in the future.
About my work, now I am doing visual design for a Thai concert due in December. It is very challenging because it is new to me. The music will be many styles - pop, rock, hiphop. I have to do something that is not music video, and at the same time, I cannot have the visual overshadows the artists on stage. There are 45 projection screens along one side of a huge stadium. So you see it is fun! I am at the same time planning to do an art project with Rotterdam Film Festival next year, but I am not sure if it will be realized in time. Usually I take quite a while to contemplate on each project.Beginning of next year I will start a digital short sponsored by Jeonju Film Festival, Korea. It is part of the 3 digital shorts by 3 filmmakers project that they have been doing for a while annually. I am thinking about doing something with animals, or something not human. I am also incubating my feature film project. I have it written as notes but haven’t had a time to compile them to a script form.
As of this writing, I am in the States screening my features. Now I am in San Francisco at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. It is a super wonderful place. I wish Thailand have at least half of its facility! People are also very warm…
Warmest Regards,
