This club, repeatedly brought down and revived again, was founded by Fela. After its reopening Nigeria reclaimed a cultural venue devoted to afro-beat and its renowned founder. Femi Kuti often holds concerts in The Shrine, spreading positive messages of afro-beat which among other things also serves as a pedagocial means.
