The Travelling Island caravan
The Travelling Island is the Isola Cinema film festival action with an aim to connect the festival with other cinemas in Slovenia, Croatia and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. From the end of April to the end of May the Isola Cinema cinema caravan is going to pass through numerous towns throughout the regions and organize film nights in cooperation with local clubs, societies and film lovers.
Among the main goals of the Travelling Island are the presentation of the Isola Cinema festival, creation of bonds between film lovers and a joint overview of the upcoming festival programme. The public and the media will get access to the first-hand information concerning the festival, share their past experiences and a chance to participate with fresh ideas.
The evening time following the projections is to be spent on cinematographic discussions and commentaries on the independent film production, but also on debates concerning organization of similar cinema events. Local film makers are strongly encouraged to show up with their own work as the selection of such production is going to be shown as a part of Video on the Beach, the Isola Cinema’s unofficial film programme. If they decide that they would like to spend some time on the film holidays, the visitors of the Travelling Island will be able to purchase special festival cards that allow for extra discounts and offers during the Isola Cinema festival.
We will put a lot of effort in cooperation with the local clubs and try to organize an acompanying music programme so that our pleasant mutual film evenings may continue all through the night.
